A Victorian silver hinge lidded canister with ornate scroll and foliate engraved decoration. Circular shaped empty cartouche to front and hallmarked to underside, back and lid. Bearing marks for Chester 1883, with Horton & Allday makers mark. Possibly a needle case or snuff canister. Approx. 6cm tall x 2.25cm diameter. Total weight approx. 21.1g.
Some slight denting to canister lid. No splits, cracks or signs of repair. Hinge in good order.
